Rakesh is an MBA student with a finance concentration at the University of San Diego. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from USD. During his time in grad school, he received the Dean’s Merit Scholarship, co-founded the San Diego Venture Club, served as President of the Graduate Student Body Association, competed in several finance case competitions, and served on the Graduate Student Council budget committee.

Before pursuing an MBA, he co-founded a commercial lighting business, where he spent 6 years building a bootstrapped business from the ground up. Drawing on his passion for startup businesses and coupled with his experience from University Growth Fund, he is pursuing a career in venture capital.

In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his two dogs, watching the Lakers and Dodgers win, traveling, and SCUBA diving.
