James is a Computer Science and Finance double major at the University of San Diego. He was recruited to play on USD’s NCAA Division 1 tennis program. During his time on the team, the Toreros were three-time West Coast Conference regular season and post-season champions. His family was awarded the USTA Tennis Family of The Year in 2016 and prior to college, James was a two-time state Champion in tennis while also competing on the varsity soccer team.

He began his financial career as an intern at the Southwest Wealth Advisory Group where he analyzed various market sectors and pitched investment opportunities. He is passionate about new and disruptive technologies with a particular interest in renewable energy, artificial intelligence, IoT, VR/AR, and outer space. Since joining UGF, he has worked on deals in the Energy Efficiency, Sales Acceleration, Infrastructure Software, Cloud Computing, and Real Estate Crowdfunding sectors. Additionally, he has worked on projects for other VC firms exploring disruption opportunities via artificial intelligence within vertical farming and construction industries. James is an avid sports lover, enjoys traveling the world, and aspires to learn how to surf during his time in San Diego.
