Spencer was born and raised in Salt Lake City and will graduate with a degree in Finance from Brigham Young University in December 2021. He is passionate about investing and the world of finance and loves to analyze the key drivers and risks associated with companies. Prior to University Growth Fund, he worked as an equity research analyst with Global Financial Advisors— BYU’s student-led investment fund.

Upon joining the Fund, Spencer had the chance to work on various deals within technology, healthcare, software, and more. After a year with UGF, Spencer went on to intern with ICO Capital and NorthCurrent Partners, both middle-market private equity firms in Lehi, UT and New York, NY, respectively.

Upon graduation, he intends to pursue a career in investment banking where he will continue to apply many of the concepts that he learned and implemented at UGF. Spencer loved his time with UGF, crediting it as a great catalyst for growth and professional development; he believes there is no better opportunity for ambitious students to get acclimated to the world of PE/VC.

In his spare time, Spencer enjoys playing and watching sports, especially basketball and tennis. He loves to sail, ski, read, travel with friends and family, and is a die-hard Utah Jazz fan.
