Alima is from the Northeast and currently studies finance as an undergraduate at the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University (BYU). She chose finance because it combines her interest in statistics and calculus with her love of people and effective communication.

Alima has interned at Portfolio Advisors, a private equity fund-of-funds; Credit Suisse, in the investment banking division in New York; and University Growth Fund. She is co-president of the Women in Finance Association (WIFA), an organization dedicated to inspiring women to make a positive impact in the workforce, home, and community. She hosts guest speakers to help educate women on career opportunities, and mentors underclasswomen preparing to enter the major. She also helped found the WIFA Gender Diversity Committee, which seeks to recruit a more diverse applicant pool to the finance major.

Alima enjoys running in the Utah mountains, reading classic literature, and watching the latest Marvel movie. She loves learning about different cultures and languages. She speaks Spanish fluently, and knows some French and Mandarin Chinese.
